Where can I rent outdoor equipment in Kamloops?
Okanagan Affordable Rentals is an outdoor gear rental and river float operation located at the Concession at Riverside Park in Kamloops, BC. We rent roller skates, paddleboards, kayaks, and canoes, and run guided River Floats daily. All bookable online or as a walk-up at the park.
What outdoor rentals are available at Riverside Park in Kamloops?
Okanagan Affordable Rentals is located at the Concession in Riverside Park, at the start of the Rivers Trail. We offer roller skate rentals, paddleboard rentals, kayak rentals, and canoe rentals. We also run guided River Floats daily at 10am and 1pm. Walk up or book online before you arrive.
Is Okanagan Affordable Rentals good for families?
Yes, we're set up for it. We carry sizes for kids and adults across all our rentals, and Riverside Park is a great spot for families. Roller skates, paddleboards, kayaks, and canoes are all available in sizes that work for the whole group.
Is Okanagan Affordable Rentals near Music in the Park in Kamloops?
Yes. Our concession at Riverside Park is about 250 metres from the Music in the Park stage and steps from the water. Running every night in July and August, it's a great excuse to rent before the show and make a full evening at the park.
BOOKING AND PAYMENT
Do I need to book in advance or can I just show up?
Both work. You can book online ahead of time to guarantee your rental, especially useful on busy days. Or just walk up to the Concession at Riverside Park and we'll get you sorted on the spot.
How do I pay for a rental?
Payment is made by credit card at the time of booking, online or at the Concession. We don't hold equipment without payment, so your booking is confirmed as soon as you check out.
Do I need to book ahead or can I walk up during open hours?
Walk-ups are always welcome during open hours, just come to the Concession at Riverside Park and we'll get you sorted. Booking online in advance is a good idea on busy days or if you need a specific size.
FLOAT THE RIVER
Can I book the River Float for my whole group?
Yes! One person can purchase up to 8 tickets in a single transaction. Select your date and the number of spots you need at checkout. Each ticket holder will fill out their own details and complete the required waiver.
What is the difference between the Kayak Float and the Raft Float?
The 10am session is in kayaks at $35 per person. The 1pm session is on inflatable rafts at $25 per person. Both include a safety kayaker accompanying the group the whole way back to Riverside Park.
What are the hours for the River Float?
The Kayak Float departs at 10am and the Raft Float departs at 1pm, daily weather permitting. Each float is approximately 2.5 hours.

What are your hours?
We're open daily from 8am to 10pm at the Concession at Riverside Park in Kamloops. Walk-ups are welcome any time during open hours.
Are your hours different for roller skates vs paddleboards and kayaks?
All rentals run the same hours. We're open daily from 8am to 10pm.
Are you open on weekends?
Yes. We're open every day including weekends, 8am to 10pm. Riverside Park is busiest on weekends, so booking ahead is a good idea.
CANCELLATION POLICY
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel at least 24 hours before your rental start time and you will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your start time are not eligible for a refund.
What about group bookings?
Group bookings of 4 or more rentals of the same item are non-refundable. This applies to roller skates, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. If you need to reschedule, contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you.
What if I need to cancel due to illness or an emergency?
