Stand up and take it all in.

Paddleboarding on the South Thompson is a one-way float through some of the most scenic river corridor in the BC Interior. The Thompson runs wide, the views stretch out in every direction, and on a calm morning there's nowhere better to be in Kamloops. Know the river

Know the river before you get on it.

The Thompson is a working river. It moves fast, runs cold, and the current can be stronger than it looks from the shore. Paddleboarding here is genuinely rewarding and it asks for your respect in return.

Before you Paddle

A few things to know before you get on the water.

  1. Life jackets are mandatory at all times while on the water. No exceptions.

  2. Stay well away from all bridges. Strong currents and submerged hazards make bridge areas extremely dangerous.

  3. Check the weather before you go. No paddling in storms, strong winds, or poor visibility

  4. Never paddle alone. Bring a partner whenever possible.

  5. Return all equipment in the condition you received it. You are financially responsible for lost or damaged gear.

  6. All renters complete a waiver before heading out. It takes about 30 seconds and is required.

PADDLE BEFORE THE SHOW

Music in the Park brings free live music to Riverside Park every night in July and August. Our concession is about 250 metres from the stage and steps from the water. Rent a paddleboard before the show, get out on the Thompson while the park fills up, and return it when the music starts. Best way to spend a summer evening in Kamloops.

*Beginning July 1st
